About Warp & Weft
An independent journal about the least-discussed surface in the house.
Floors get chosen quickly, live for fifteen years and are almost never written about seriously. Warp & Weft exists because the good information about carpets and rugs is scattered between trade documents, museum catalogues and showroom sales patter, and none of those are written for the person actually deciding.
What it covers
Materials is about fibre and construction. Craft & History covers how floorcoverings are made and where the traditions came from. Living With It is the practical end: sizing, damp, underlay and cleaning without causing damage.
Who writes it
Written by Hazel Brannigan. Nothing here is sponsored, no manufacturer has approval over what is published, and there are no affiliate reviews.
Corrections
Anything factually wrong will be corrected and the change noted. See the contact page.
